Sound System for Rent in greater New York
The clear and powerful Mackie sound is unprecedented for mobile
sound systems. As a rule of thumb you want 10 watts per person. You can talk right in
front of the speaker, yet you can hear doors on the other side of the building
vibrating. We rent this out for $60 per speaker. We provide delivery and pickup. These are all active, self
amplified active speakers so it doesn’t use an amp, just CDJs/turntables
plus a mixer with XLR outs. If you
don't any of this equipment we can rent all that out too… Technics turntables $20 each, 2 Pioneer CDJs 200s/1000s, for $40, $20 for the DJM3000 and a Xone.

Two 18" subs (Mackie 1801s –

Four 500 watt self amplified

plus two monitors on stands (Mackie
SRM450s – 400 watts each) http://www.mackie.com/products/srm450/index.html These are OK by themselves if the focus is
not solely on the music or theplace is <1000 sq ft. But for a
larger system the DJ can more easily mix and hear what everyone else is
hearing.
There are also two other FBT speakers, 1000 watts each.

GENERATORS

$130/day, 55,000 watt $180.00 per day, 125,000 watt 250.00 per day.
You'll probably need a decent size pick up to pull the bigger units. Most
of the trailer models use diesel. All numbers are approximate your
results may vary.
A generator with a 4-stroke engine needs gasoline
and regular motor oil added seperately (most small rented engines burn
oil). A generator with a 2-stroke engine needs gasoline mixed with
special 2-stroke oil (you need to add this to the gas before pouring the
feul mixture into the generator. You shouldn't use gas mixed with
2-stroke oil in a 4-stroke engine.
The only way you can use 2 or more generators is to
plug some stuff into one generator and some stuff into another. YOU
CANNOT SUM TWO ALTERNATING CURRENTS THAT ARE OUT OF PHASE. So you will
need two extension cords and two power strips if you are using two
generators. Bring a power tester.
Unless you have a super little "PA", the
generator needs to have adequate power to perform properly. a) add up total
wattage output of all appliances, double the amplifier numbers, and you
are close to the correct wattage of generator you need to not damage
stuff. Solid state amps burn about 50% of their used energy in creating
heat.
Finally, if you are using powered/self
amplified/active speakers, you’ll need a generator has a built-in
VRT (Voltage Regulating Transformer).
If not, the signal may cut out for a second each time music kicks
in after a lull.
Most of these places will deliver for a price. Call
ahead for availability; when you call them you should know what size
equipment you want. Portable units usually come in 5000 watt ($60 / day
+/-) and 7500 watt ($80 / day +/-).
